Happy New Year! Welcome to 2016! I’m really excited about the new year. There’s so many things I want to do, friends I want to see and places I want to go.
I don’t usually make new year’s resolutions. By the time it hits March you’ve usually forgotten all about the resolutions anyway. Did you know that the top three resolutions are, losing weight, getting organized and spending less and saving more? And that only 8% of people are successful in achieving their resolution?
But I will make the number 4 most-popular resolution, enjoy life to the fullest. That’s one I can totally get into. I live that resolution every day! And so does my whole family, my three siblings Princess Lulu, Geno and Hugo, and Mom and Dad.
And, that also fits in nicely with the number 10 resolution, spend more time with the family. So I guess I have two resolutions this year!
By the way, did you know there’s a list of the top 10 resolutions from a dog’s perspective? You can find anything on the Internet — with help from Mom, of course.
So, here from www.petplace.com are the Top 10 New Year’s Resolution for Dogs:
Resolution #1: I will eat less and exercise more.
Resolution #2: I will beg less
Resolution #3: I will recognize the difference between furniture and fire hydrants.
Resolution #4: I’ll stay out of the cat’s litter box.
Resolution #5: I won’t bite the vet anymore.
Resolution #6: I won’t steal food as much.
Resolution #7: I’ll introduce myself in more appropriate ways.
Resolution #8: I’ll do better “holding it” until morning.
Resolution #9: I’ll bark at the mailman less.
Resolution #10: I’ll tolerate those homemade bandannas more.
I can actually get behind resolutions number 2 and 6. In 2016, I will TRY to beg less, but if it involves a juicy T-bone steak, all bets are off. Or apples. Or figs. Or ice cubes.
As for number 6, I won’t steal food as much, I have to say, I don’t really steal as much as I appropriate. And I really don’t go out of my way to appropriate, but sometimes they make it so easy. I just can’t resist. Plus, if I don’t jump at the first opportunity, my siblings certainly will. I don’t think they make resolutions, at least not that kind.
Did you know that January is Get Organized Month as well as Celebration of Life Month and Creativity Month? Now that’s what I call a busy and fulfilling month!
And here are some days in January I really love, such as:
Jan. 11, National Step in the Puddle and Splash Your Friends Day, which sounds like a lot of fun; Jan. 14, National Dress Up Your Pet Day; Jan. 15, National Hat Day, one of my favorites; Jan. 20, National Cheese Lover’s Day, who doesn’t like that?; Jan. 21, National Hugging Day, which should be every day; Jan. 22, Celebration of Life Day; and Jan. 31, National Inspire Your Heart With Art Day.
Well, I hope you inspire your heart in 2016! Happy New Year!
