Happy Halloween! I know, I know, it’s not until Oct. 31, but I get all excited when I know it’s close. I love all the great costumes, the candy, the wild, and sometimes scary, decorations and the kids having a great time in their colorful costumes.
It’s also the anticipation of what costumes Mom is going to come up with this year. Will we be pirates? Minions? Tropical fish? M&M’s? Super heroes? I can’t wait! It’s going to be exciting this year because we have two new siblings, Buddha and Zoey, joining us in our costume party! Bet they’ve never been an M&M or a Troll!
Appropriately enough, October is also Adopt a Shelter Dog Month. Both Buddha and Zoey came from our friends at Peace of Mind Dog Rescue in Pacific Grove and we couldn’t be happier. It was tough sledding at first (we’re a little wary until you get to know us), but we welcomed them with open paws before long and they’ve fit right into our family.
October is also Breast Cancer Awareness Month, National Pizza Month, National Vegetarian Month and National Diabetes Month, Domestic Violence Awareness Month and National Cookie Month.
All eyes, however, are on Halloween, which can’t come soon enough, so I guess we’re going to have to entertain ourselves on days like National Homemade Cookies Day on the 1st, Do Something Nice Day on the 5th, It’s My Party Day on the 11th, National Dessert Day on the 14th, Wear Something Gaudy Day on the 17th, National Pumpkin Cheesecake Day on the 21st, and for our own Lulu and her favorite pink piggy, Plush Animal Lover’s Day on the 28th.
Also, National Pasta Day is the 17th, but World Pasta Day is the 25th, which means two days this month to celebrate pasta in all its glory! But I also found it odd that National Candy Corn Day is the 30th, not Halloween. So does that mean we can celebrate a day early?
Well, the first week of October is Get Organized Week, so you have a whole week to prepare for Halloween. Hope you all have a wonderful Halloween!
